Megan Sisk is the new 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher.

She spent the last year student teaching in Howard County, and is a recent graduate of Loyola University Maryland.

She is very excited to join the PVMS Teaching staff.

She also enjoys playing soccer, fishing, vacationing with her family, walking her dogs, and spending time with friends.

 

 

 

Dee Newberger is the new Orchestra Teacher at PVMS. This is her first year teaching for Howard County Public Schools. She feels honored and excited to be teaching at Patuxent Valley! She was born into a family of musicians and started playing the cello at age six studying at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. She went to the University of Bridgeport where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance. Later, she would study at Shenandoah Conservatory obtaining a Master’s Degree in Orchestral Conducting.

 

This will be her fourteenth year teaching music in the public schools.  She held a position as an orchestra director with Washington County Public Schools for the last eleven years.  In addition, she also appeared as a string coach at Shippensburg University, Shepherd University and Cumberland Valley School of Music and has been an adjunct faculty member at Hollins University.  She has served as guest conductor, adjudicator and guest clinician in various counties throughout Maryland. She is also an active cellist and perform regularly with a number of professional orchestras.
