Dear Patuxent Valley Families,
We want to make you aware that we conducted the following safety drills during period 2 and period 6 today: Evacuation, Reverse Evacuation, Shelter in Place, Lockdown, Modified Lock Down and Duck, Cover and Hold. We conducted these drills so that all students and staff have both talked through and walked through each of our responses to emergency situations contained within our emergency response plan.
Safety drills are part of the safety measures that all HCPSS schools conduct as part of our Emergency Response Preparedness Plans practice for students and staff. Detailed information about emergency procedures can be found at www.hcpss.org/safety/. You can also find the information we shared with young people in all of our home room periods this week here.
Please be reassured that students were provided guidance from administration and teachers prior to, during, and after the drills to avoid any unnecessary anxiety or alarm.
We will continue to keep you updated on future drills as they occur. All students and staff did a great job following the expectations. #BulldogStrong.
Sincerely,
Richard Smart, Principal (richard_smart@hcpss.org)
