Mr. Rick Robb is the proud, new principal of Patuxent Valley Middle School. He spent thirteen years in information technology working at companies like Ernst and Young, Proctor and Gamble, and numerous state and county governments. Soon after, he began working with youth in the juvenile and rehabilitation centers in Ohio and Maryland. Upon receiving his English / Education degree, he started his teaching career in Prince George's County at Kettering Middle School, Duval High School, and Eleanor Roosevelt High School. In 2000, Mr. Robb transferred to the Howard County School System where he taught English at River Hill High School for eleven years. During that time, he acquired his Masters in School Counseling, was principal of Howard County's Evening School for seven years and Howard County's Comprehensive Summer School program for ten years. He was assistant principal at Long Reach High School and Marriotts Ridge High School and the Administrator for the Applications and Research Laboratory. He has written articles and presented at local, state and national workshops on technology in education. He enjoys spending time with his wife, twin boys, and younger daughter, and dabbling in track cycling, and recently, shooting Olympic-style Recurve archery competitively. He looks forward to getting to know his new Patuxent Valley community.

Kelli NItsch

Kelli Nitsch is entering her second year as Administrative/Leadership Intern at Patuxent Valley Middle School. Mrs. Nitsch came to Howard County Public Schools in 2003 from Anne Arundel County as a mathematics teacher and seventh grade team leader at Ellicott Mills Middle School. In 2008 she served as Mathematics Instructional Support Teacher (MIST) and team leader at Patapsco Middle and most recently, Lake Elkhorn Middle School. She has earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University of Maryland, a certificate in Gifted Education and licensure in Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University.
