Dear Patuxent Valley Families and Community;
Yesterday we welcomed our faculty back into the building and had a great day of community building, sharing food, digging into why we love working in this community, and, of course, beginning setting up our spaces so we can host our young people when they are back in the building (8/24 for New Student Orientation or 8/28 for the first day of school at 8am).
On August 24 at 1pm we are looking forward to welcoming our new 6th graders and students who will be new to PVMS in 7th and 8th grade for the 2023 -2024 school year.
The doors will open at 12:45pm for any students who need a paper copy of their schedule
Student will meet in the gym and parents in the cafeteria
All students will have a chance to walk their schedule and get to meet staff and students, and find some of their people for this school year.
There will be a meeting for parents to share information and answer questions about the school and school year. Parents will also have a chance to find some of their people for this school year too.
From 2:30pm to 4:00pm the PVMS PTA is hosting a Welcome Back to School Block Party on the PVMS Blacktop. Look out for more information soon!
Before the school year begins we need you to complete your emergency card! HCPSS utilizes Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. All parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child each school year. Parents/guardians can access their student's Family File by logging into HCPSS Connect, selecting the “More Options” tab on the left and then selecting “Family File” in the center column.

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL MESSAGE FOR PVMS/BBES CAMPUS
We are excited to return to the school buildings and have been working hard to prepare for a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal from Bollman Bridge and Patuxent Valley. The administrations at both Bollman Bridge and Patuxent Valley Middle Schools have been collaborating this summer on a joint traffic pattern and arrival and dismissal plan. Read more

ANNOUNCING A FUNDRAISER FOR PVMS THEATER:
Saturday, September 9, a Chipotle restaurant night is scheduled to support the PVMS chapter of the International Thespian Society and PVMS’ after school productions. Just show the flyer when you purchase food between 4 and 8 pm that day (or use the code when you order online) from the Chipotle in Laurel Lakes to support PVMS Theatre. PTA AND BACK TO SCHOOL DONATIONS
It’s never too early to sign up for PTA for the school year or to make a donation. Check out the PVMS PTA information here. We are also working hard to plan activities for staff and students during the opening weeks, if you’d like to make a donation to Patuxent Valley for these activities you can do so here.
IMMUNIZATIONS
All students must have the required State of Maryland immunizations in order to attend school. Details on immunization and health form requirements can be found online. 7th graders: MCV 4 (meningococcal vaccine) and TDAP must be completed before first day of school. Upcoming Immunization Clinics
