Dear Families,

The Howard County Public School System is committed to student achievement and well-being. During SEL time the weeks of April 22 - May 10 we will be asking all students in Grades 6 and 7 to take a brief survey to tell us about their social-emotional skills and access to supportive relationships. The survey should not take more than 10-15 minutes to complete. Make-up sessions will be provided as needed. 

We are asking that all of our students participate in the survey, as their feedback will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. If a student feels that they do not have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. Some examples of survey items include:  “During the past 30 days how often did you come to class prepared?” and “During the past week how often did you feel happy? lonely?”  We are partnering with Panorama Education, a third-party vendor, to support the administration of this survey.

Please notify us if you would like your child to opt out of taking the survey by filling in your name and your child’s name below and returning it to school by May 3, 2024.
