One of our goals as Career Readiness Advisors is to facilitate a student-driven journey of

self-reflection, skill development, and career exploration to ensure that all students graduate with a well-informed post-high school plan aligned with their career goals. At the middle school level we want our students to take self assessments in Naviance to acquire and apply self-knowledge to personal learning and eventually career goals; Connecting Passion, Purpose and Path.

As of Monday, December 2nd all of our PVMS students have completed at least one self assessment through our Naviance platform.

We encourage all families to ask to see their students self-assessment summaries which are located in their Naviance account under Self- Discovery.

Along with Self-Awareness our goal at the middle school level is Career Awareness. This month at PVMS, we will be hosting another Career Cafe for our 6th-8th graders to expose students to a variety of careers. On Friday, December 21st our career speaker will be a Civil Engineer, representing the Manufacturing, Engineering & Technology Career cluster. Next month’s session will be Friday, January 31st and the Career Cluster is Information Technology. We are ALWAYS looking for speakers to participate in monthly virtual panel discussions, and/or to engage with our students as an in-person speaker.
